About Us

We are building a children's hospital at Zinga in Tanzania. This is our third hospital project in Tanzania, the other two have now been turned over to the Lutheran Church there. We also have a BSN level nursing program with St. John's University at Dodoma in Tanzania with 487 students. In Sept. we will start a Masters in Nursing Education Project. The hospital at Zinga will also serve adults in outpatient, maternity, dental, eye, physical therapy, and surgery. Our last project, building Nyakato Health Center near Mwanza, Tanzania involved hosting about a team a month, both construction and medical. Last year we had volunteers from 13 countries. Mary Ellen Kitundu, R.N., MEd is president of IHP. Dennis E Lofstrom, M.D., is vice president of IHP
Paula Lofstrom, LPN, is the managing director of IHP. We have lived in Tanzania for the last 11 years building these projects. We look forward to hosting construction teams in 2014 and beginning to host medical teams and students in 2015
